Music on Fire

Music on Fire
The Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, Surrey, founded nearly 300 years ago, was the location last month for the latest extravaganza masterminded by Major Sir Michael Parker in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund. 'Music on Fire' was literally that. A concert of popular music from the 20th Century accompanied continuously by fireworks, pyrotechnics and large scale projected images.

A huge stage complete with a transparent roof housed a vast military band comprising members from the Life, Grenadier, Scots and Irish Guards, plus the Royal Artillery Orchestra, Household Cavalry and a choir of over 200. Additionally, pre-show entertainment off-stage involved marching contributions from the Massed Infantry Corps of Drums and a dance troupe from Stagecoach.
