Nissan Pan European Dealer Meeting:

February 11th 1998, Paris Expo Hall 4.
Delta's "Nissan Impossible".

Delta Sound Inc undertook one of its most challenging-ever audio productions when Nissan Europe took over the whole of the Hall 4 exhibition room at the Expo in Paris for a massive dealer conference for around 4000 delegates.

Contracted by London based Maritz Communications, Delta Sound Inc were required to take a scientific approach to designing the optimum sound reinforcement system for the 24-hour corporate bash. To cope with the event's requirements, Delta fielded a 13-strong crew, including Simon Honywill, who - with Delta Director Paul Keating - took responsibility for the overall design specification and software configuration. Delta's Jim Lambert was overall project manager, co-ordinating the detailed equipment supply.

An ambitious venue/production layout was key to the centrepiece first-night dinner, when the dealers were given an executive sales address - which included 11 separate car reveals around the perimeter - before being treated to a gala dinner and cabaret, featuring the American avant garde 'human circus' troupe, Cirque. The event required a complicated balance of audio design, installation expertise, and RF knowledge, as well as the ability to get the very best from combining new and existing technology, effects and equipment.

The final words from the Delta team? "A very complex job in a difficult environment. But, all in all, we could not have hoped for a more successful outcome".
