The Middle East events industry now has its own "Oscars" with the launch of The Middle East Awards, a dedicated event for organisers, producers, manufacturers and suppliers, held under the umbrella of recent PALME Middle East 2008 exhibition. The awards recognise the achievements of individuals and companies within the live event industry. Andy Jackson, who runs Delta Sound in Dubai won Sound Engineer of the Year; perhaps next year there may be a category for Sound Company of the year. . . . . . . . . .
